JDS May 2024 Newsletter

Wow, it is hard to believe we are down to the final two months of our 2023-24 school year. It has been a tremendous blessing working with your children this year, my third as principal. I am very proud of our school, students, staff, and families. I thoroughly enjoy working each and every day with all of you. Our Grade 1,4, and 5 students continue their swimming lessons at Nicholas Sheran Pool over the next couple of weeks. As a school we are glad that we are able to support families with this very important water safety training, and also a chance for kids to have some fun outside of our building The FISH! Philosophy continues to be a strong focus for our staff and students helping to make our building a great place to learn, honor the LGM faith, be with friends, and develop as young people. As most of you know, FISH! focuses on being there, making other peoples day, play, and choosing your attitude. We are seeing our students follow this program on a daily basis, and have heard many great stories where this is happening at home as well. Next school council meeting is Monday, June 10th. This will be our final parent council meeting of the year. If you have any questions for me, about our school, or how your child is doing feel free to call, e-mail, or stop by the school for a visit.
